Pia Bouman, Artistic Director of the Pia Bouman School for Ballet and Creative Movement, a Parkdale-based not-for-profit organization, talks about the school’s 27th annual performance of The Nutcracker. With dance students Aidan McNally, Kate Mahoney, and Tryfon Howell. Shows 7:30 pm Thurs Dec 20 & Fri Dec 21, 2:00 pm Sat. Dec 22 & Sun Dec 23, at Lismer Hall, Humberside Collegiate Institute, 280 Quebec Avenue. Choreographer/Instructor Jackie Latendresse, Proprietor and Artistic Director of Free Flow Dance Theatre Company, founded in Kitchener, Ontario in 1995 and now located in Saskatoon, Saskachewan. Latendresse makes modern dance accessible to everyone and often discusses male and female issues in her choreography. Also founded the Rosebud Burlesque Club where the neo-feminist women (and men) of all shapes and sizes express themselves through dance but with political and social satire.
