 Sunday Feb 21st 2010:

Karen Bernard, New York City-based Dance Soloist and Founder and Director of New Dance Alliance (NDA), a non-profit arts service organization that produces an annual performance festival, talks about her autobiographical work Ouette which borrows a cinematic construction from the movie Swimming Pool by Francois Ozon where imagined and real experiences are shown without distinction, as well as cliches of dance voacabulary to inform two levels of experience. Showing in Week Three Feb 24-28 of The Rhubarb Festival taking place Feb 10- 28 at Buddies In Bad Times Theatre, 12 Alexander Street.
Micheal Trent, artistic Director of Dancemakers on their presentation of Two By Three--a festival of duets. Accompanying him are Choreographers Melanie Demers (Canada) and Lila Diallo (UK) on their work Sauver Ma Peau (Sense of Self) which was created between Kenya, Canada and Uk and investigates questions linked to the multi-layered nature of identity and runs Feb 23-25 at Dancemakers Centre For Creation, 55 Mill St. Cannery, Distillery District.
